Mission & Goals

Belgian Friends of Israel can carry out all acts relating directly or indirectly to its social purpose. The latter is, among other things, the fight against anti-Semitism, anti-Zionism and the disqualification of the State of Israel or its right to exist and also against all forms of racism, xenophobia and prejudice. The association is independent of any government or public or private institution, Belgian or foreign. In particular, it promotes harmony between the Belgian and Israeli people.

EU Legislative Interests

Our organization targets policies related to (i) combating anti-Semitism, (ii) combatting the demonization of the State of Israel in the EU, (iii) promoting freedom of religion and freedom of opinion in the EU, (iv) fight discriminations based on race, gender, religion and nationalities, (v) promoting international dialogue and understanding.

Communication Activities

We organize the conference "Anti-Semitism and Israel demonization on European Campuses" that will be held in the European parliament on November 11, 2025. The conference is co-hosted by MEP Lukas Mandl (EPP), MEP Moritz Körner (Renew Europe), MEP Hannes Heide (Progressive Alliance of Socialists and Democrats).

Additional Information

We are a small organization running on members annual fees and sometimes donations. Our members are natural persons (individuals), not legal entities. In 2024, we had 12 full members paying a small annual fee (25€). We also had two small donations by 2 members. All our members work in other organizations/companies or are retired. Their contribution is voluntary and unpaid. Our activities do not require more budget. We intervene in public debates, we write letters to politicians in charge, we offer comments to journalists. None of these activities requires budget. Once a year, we contribute to a local event in Belgium related to our social purpose by a small amounts of money (120€). Some of our members manage our Facebook, Twitter and Instagram accounts for free. Our annual budget covers the yearly cost of the domain where our webpage is hosted (<100€). The rest our our online services is provided for free through Google For Nonprofits.
