Mission & Goals
The Bay Area Council is the business association and public policy institute representing leading companies in the San Francisco Bay Area and Silicon Valley. Our mission is to advance economic competitiveness, sustainability, and innovation by shaping effective public policy and fostering international cooperation. We engage with European institutions, member states, and partner organizations to promote transatlantic collaboration on technology, climate resilience, clean energy, mobility, and economic development.
EU Legislative Interests
The Bay Area Council intends to engage broadly on EU initiatives related to technology and innovation, digital policy, climate resilience, clean energy, sustainable mobility, and economic development. Our focus will include policies that shape transatlantic cooperation, data governance frameworks, AI and emerging technologies, decarbonization strategies, the green and digital transitions, and regulatory approaches affecting global business operations. Engagement will remain exploratory as we assess areas where Bay Area industry expertise can support shared policy objectives.
Communication Activities
The Bay Area Council intends to deliver policy briefings, informational meetings, stakeholder roundtables, and occasional publications or reports highlighting Bay Area industry perspectives on innovation, climate, and economic policy. As our EU engagement develops, we may organize events or disseminate updates to facilitate dialogue between Bay Area companies, EU institutions, and partner organizations. No formalized or ongoing communication activities have begun to date.
