Mission & Goals
BATT4EU is a Co-programmed Partnership established under Horizon Europe – the Framework Programme for Research and Innovation of the European Union- that aims to achieve a competitive and sustainable European industrial value-chain for e-mobility and stationary applications. It is a contractual public-private Partnership gathering – on the public side – the European Commission; and – on the private side – BEPA, which regroups all the battery stakeholders from the European Research community. BEPA is positioning itself not only as the private part in the BATT4EU Partnership, but also more broadly as the voice of European research and innovation across the battery value chain. We set the technological priorities, advocate for funding and financing policies, and foster collaboration, with the goal to accelerate research and innovation and its industrialisation for a competitive Europe.
EU Legislative Interests
The upcoming Framework Programme on Research and Innovation (FP10), more specifically securing the role of battery research and innovation within the Horizon Europe framework and the European Competitiveness Fund. BEPA seeks to achieve continuation of the Batteries Partnership under Horizon Europe, while equally supporting possible downstream partnerships that will be established (e.g. an automotive partnership). BEPA also seeks to ensure adequate representation of the priorities of the European battery R&I community in other instruments, such as the EIC and ERC and a good alignment between Horizon Europe and the Comepetitiveness Funds.
