Mission & Goals
BalticWaters is an independent foundation engaged in efforts to improve the Baltic Sea environment. The Foundation runs several large-scale environmental projects, carries out calls aimed at researchers and students, conducts active advocacy work, and establishes a new fish research laboratory – the first of its kind in the Baltic Sea region.
EU Legislative Interests
We seek to influence the common fisheries policy and the common agricultural policy. The purpose of our work is to make sure these policy and legislative areas are incorporating environmental and ecosystem considerations to ensure a well managed an healthy fishery in the Baltic Sea, a agricultural sector that does not loose unnecessary amounts of nutrients to water and air and that any new policies always take into account sustainable and circular management of natural resources.
