Mission & Goals
Baltic Cable AB owns and operates the Baltic Cable, a 250 kilometre long High Voltage Direct Current (HVDC) sub-sea cable, interconnecting the German transmission system, operated by TenneT TSO GmbH, and the Swedish transmission system, operated by Svenska Kraftnät. Baltic Cable AB aims to promote European market integration and operational security through the efficient allocation of cross-border electricity capacity between Sweden and Germany. It seeks to promote fair treatment of standalone interconnector TSO organisations as well as the strong cooperation between TSOs of all types on a multilateral, regional and pan-European level.
