Mission & Goals
Bakamo is dedicated to bringing unfiltered reality to the heart of decision-making. We believe that a resilient democracy requires a deep, authentic understanding of the people it serves—moving beyond "boardroom assumptions" to capture how citizens actually live and think. Our primary goal is to close the gap between European institutions and the public. We use social listening and digital anthropology to surface the organic, unscripted conversations where real life happens. By translating these authentic human insights into actionable strategy, we help decision-makers move past sterile data points to embrace the lived experiences of the people. We empower leaders to build policies grounded in transparency, empathy, and truth, ensuring that the voice of the citizen isn't just a metric, but the foundation of every major decision.
EU Legislative Interests
Bakamo provides deep-dive human insights across a range of critical European policy areas, specifically focusing on files where public sentiment and organic discourse are vital to successful implementation. Our work is centered on bridging the gap between institutional objectives and the lived reality of citizens. Key Policy Areas & Engagement: Migration and Social Integration: Analyzing the emotional drivers and public narratives surrounding migration to inform more empathetic and effective policy frameworks. Resilience and Crisis Management: Identifying community vulnerabilities and strengths to bolster European societal resilience against systemic shocks. Vocational Education and Training (VET): Mapping the evolving needs of the workforce to ensure EU educational initiatives align with the actual aspirations and barriers of learners. Disinformation and Information Integrity: We have actively presented findings on the mechanics of disinformation, helping institutions understand how "unfiltered" organic opinions are formed and manipulated in digital spaces. Methodological Focus: Our engagement is designed to enable EU institutions to leverage modern, non-intrusive opinion research solutions. By utilizing digital anthropology and social listening, we move beyond traditional polling to capture the authentic, unscripted voices of audiences. Our Objective: To help decision-makers build bridges of relevance. We ensure that legislative proposals are not developed in a vacuum, but are grounded in a sophisticated understanding of the public’s unfiltered reality, leading to policies that are more resonant, transparent, and impactful.
Communication Activities
Bakamo actively engages in high-level EU forums to bridge the gap between policy and public sentiment. Notable contributions include: EuroPCom (European Committee of the Regions): Presented multiple times on how disinformation erodes institutional trust and the specific emotional drivers that can rebuild it. Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung (FES): Published "Migration Narratives in Europe," a major study covering all 28 EU member states. We identified five pan-European narratives by analyzing 45 million social media interactions to help policymakers move beyond polarized rhetoric. EU DisinfoLab: Regularly presented deep-dive research, including a landmark analysis of the French presidential election, mapping how digital manipulation and organic "unfiltered" concerns intersect during high-stakes democratic events.
