Mission & Goals
The Port Authority System of Northern Tyrrhenian Sea is the public entity in charge of planning and developing the ports of Livorno, Piombino, Capraia, Portoferraio, Cavo and Rio Marina in Tuscany, Italy. This public body was established with Law decree no. 169/2016 and has no organisational tasks. It controls port operations and awards port concessions to private for profit companies. It is involved in several EU funded programmes, including Connecting Europe facility.
EU Legislative Interests
ADSP MTS follows the implementation of the TEN-T network, as well as the port related policy of the European Union. We take part also in many Horizon2020 projects.
Communication Activities
ADSP MTS is implementing body of the Italian Transport Ministry in the CEF funded project Ursa Major Neo and is partner of the CEF projects MERIDIAN and VERKKO. It is partner or coordinator of many Interreg cross-boarder projects and several Interreg transnational projects, Horizon projets and ESA projects. It has hosted the first Plugtest of ETSI in a Mediterranean port in 2016, while in 2020 it has been awared the Hannover Messe Anergy efficiency award. It is the lead partner of the LIFE4MEDECA, LIFE4MECA and LIFE4DEGAS projects. It hosted the 2019 ESPO conference and it is represented in several port related associations.
