Mission & Goals

AICPA & CIMA, together as the Association of International Certified Professional Accountants is the largest professional accountancy body an the world. Our mission is to drive a dynamic accounting profession ready to meet the demands of a constantly changing, disruptive world. We seek to represent our members and advocate for the future of our profession, powering trust, opportunity and prosperity worldwide.

EU Legislative Interests

Our primary interests in the current Commission work plan focus on corporate sustainability, including CSRD, CSDDD, the Omnibus Proposals, revised ESRS and NESRS, together with the development of related assurance standards. We retain an interest in all other issues impacting our members, or the global accounting profession and the business sector from time to time, including:- Corporate governance Corporate reporting and supervision Audit and Assurance (including regulatory frameworks) Supervision of corporate governance, reporting and audit activities in the EU. Tax Policy (Tax Omnibus, Global Taxation). Trade SME and corporate business policies. Anti-money-laundering/ counter terrorism financing Professional ethics (relating to accountancy activities and/or business activities). Whistleblowing Regulation of AI Professional qualifications, recognition of professional qualifications, skills education and STEM. US- EU Relations Sustainable finance

Communication Activities

We provide updates to our members on current EU policy developments. We develop and publish thought leadership for our members which may be relevant to EU policy. We hold webinars updating our members, firms and internal stakeholders on current EU policies and our related advocacy.
