EU Legislative Interests

Fair Competition (We want to participate in the discussion of the EU regarding the coherence of the Internal Single Market). Free Trade Agreements (we support the position of certain members of our Association regarding the nature of certain Free Trade Agreements of EU with third countries which are not beneficial for the interest of our industries by providing documentation) Acquisitions made by non-EU countries Energy Competitiveness (Our Association is active in discussing energy measures with the Greek Ministry of Energy and the Environment while we participate through delegates in the Energy and Climate Committee of EUROMETAUX). Industrial Strategy and Competitiveness (The upcoming Clean Industrial Deal is of top importance for our Association and we intend to participate in Antwerp on the evening of 26/2/25 and the roundtable discussions. Critical Raw Materials (Our Association is participating in an effort to include Secondary Raw Materials into the CRMA i.e to make exports of copper and aluminum scrap outside of Europe less easy in order to boost Circularity and protect urban Mines).

Communication Activities

We had the chance to host the Commissioner for Cohesion and Reforms Mrs. Elisa Ferreira in our General Assembly in Greece 2021 and the Commissioner of Energy Mrs. Kadri Simson participated in our General Assembly of 2022 via a recorded video message. We participate in several meetings with EU officials for trade measures and regulations under amendment.
