Mission & Goals
A.I.S.E. is the voice of a prospering cleaning products and hygiene industry which serves society in a safe, innovative and sustainable way A.I.S.E., engages with the EU Institutions and provide scientific and technical data in relation to the development of EU legislation. Main field of action consists in activities for its members such as scientific studies in relation to detergents, information and expertise about EU policies, mainly in the field of environment, chemicals, and consumer safety. A.I.S.E. seeks to play a proactive role in favour of Sustainability by running industry voluntary initiatives in this field. A.I.S.E. advocacy is based on three key pillars: Societal dimension: cleanliness and hygiene are essential in modern life. Hospitals, food safety, clean houses, essentiality of our sector. EU Legislative Interests
Chemicals legislation: e.g. Classification, Labelling and Packaging of substances and mixtures Regulation (CLP), Detergents Regulation, Biocidal Products Regulation, REACH, Urban Wastewater Treatment Directive. Environmental Regulation: Substantiation of green claims, sustainable products, packaging legislation, industrial decarbonization accelerator act, bioeconomy, biotechnology, Circular economy act, ESPR. Empowering consumers and consumers safety. Omnibuses.
Communication Activities
Annual events: Cleaning and Hygiene Forum and receptions. Voluntary industry initiatives in the field of sustainability and product safety: the "Charter for Sustainable Cleaning"; Product Stewardship Programme for Liquid Gel Capsules; DETNET Database for classification of detergents/cleaning products; Cleanright.eu website; Safe use Icons for alerting consumers on safe use of products; "I Prefer 30" communication campaign on low temperature washing; "Keep Caps from Kids" communication campaign on safe use of liquid laundry gel capsules; A.I.S.E. annual report. Advocacy activities organised on the revision of the Detergents Regulation, including, webinars, workshops and company visits, on ethanol and on CLP Omnibus.
