EU Legislative Interests

The European Association of Innovation Consultants (EAIC) focuses primarily on shaping EU research and innovation legislation to ensure funding programmes are transparent, efficient, and accessible. Its advocacy centres on the design and implementation of EU Framework Programmes such as Horizon Europe and the upcoming FP10, as well as instruments under the European Innovation Council (EIC), where it promotes simplification, better governance, and improved evaluation processes. EAIC also engages on innovation-related taxation proposals such as Business in Europe Framework for Income Taxation (BEFIT), advocating for strong R&D incentives, and contributes to discussions on funding rules, the Innovation Fund, and professional standards affecting innovation consultants operating within EU programmes.

Communication Activities

The European Association of Innovation Consultants supports its advocacy on EU research and innovation policy through a range of communication activities linked to programmes such as Horizon Europe and the future FP10, as well as instruments under the European Innovation Council. These include organising webinars, workshops, and annual events that bring together members, policymakers, and stakeholders to discuss developments in EU funding frameworks; publishing position papers and reports with recommendations on programme design and implementation; issuing statements and news updates reacting to major EU policy initiatives; and maintaining ongoing outreach through its website, newsletters, and social media to inform and engage the wider innovation ecosystem.

The Association des Conseils en Innovation (ACI) is the French professional association representing innovation consulting firms and played a founding role in the creation of the European Association of Innovation Consultants (EAIC). ACI brings together consultancies specialised in research, development and innovation funding, promoting professional standards, ethical conduct and best practices in supporting companies and research organisations in accessing public funding. Through its leadership in establishing EAIC, ACI contributed to building a broader European network of innovation consultancy associations and firms, strengthening representation of the sector at EU level and fostering collaboration across Member States.
