Mission & Goals

The Center for the Rights of Persons with Disabilities is a public association, established in 2006. The team has been aiming over the years to produce positive changes in the lives of people with disabilities and in Moldovan society, so that together we can enjoy the exercise of our rights and freedoms in a fair and respectful manner. Our mission is to promote and protect the rights of persons with disabilities, without distinction of race, color, nationality, ethnic origin, language, religion or belief, gender, sex, age, opinion, political affiliation or any other similar criterion, to favor social inclusion and their spiritual fulfillment, through monitoring actions, advocacy and programs to develop their potential.

Communication Activities

The campaign on Facebook for promoting, through video spots, the right of persons with disabilties from Chisinau to access the public spaces and buildings of the town. Another campaign on Facebook, by rolling video spots, was directed at promoting the access to education of young people with disabilities in universities. These communication campaigns were organized with the financial support of the European Union and the Friedrich Ebert Foundation, and are implemented by the Independent Analytical Center Expert-Grup, as the main partner, in partnership with the Institute for European Policies and Reforms (IPRE), Institutum Virtutes Civilis (IVC), and Friedrich Ebert Stiftung Moldova.

Member Of

1) The Alliance of Organisation for Persons with Disabilities from Moldova. This is an Moldovan umbrella entity, with 60 memebers, of organisations of persons with disabilities and organisations of service providers for persons with disabilities from Moldova. 2) Associate member of the European Disability Forum EDF is an independent non-governmental organization (NGO) based in Brussels, run by persons with disabilities and their families. The organisation brings together national councils and European-level organizations of persons with disabilities. EDF advocates for equal rights, inclusion, and accessibility for persons with disabilities. It also ensures that EU policies and legislation are shaped with and by persons with disabilities — guided by the principle: “Nothing about us without us.” EDF works closely with EU institutions like the European Parliament, European Commission, and Council of the EU. 3) Member of the Moldovan National Platform Eastern Partnership Civil Society Forum The Moldovan National Platform of the Eastern Partnership Civil Society Forum is an independent, non-governmental structure that brings together over 120 civil society organizations from across Moldova. The Platform unites NGOs working in areas such as human rights, democratic governance, social inclusion, and environmental sustainability. It advocates for Moldova’s European integration, democratic reforms, and active civil society participation in policymaking. The Platform ensures that Moldova’s EU accession process is shaped with and by civil society — guided by the principle of inclusive dialogue and transparency. The Platform works closely with EU institutions, Moldovan authorities, and the broader Eastern Partnership Civil Society Forum to promote shared European values and strengthen Moldova’s reform commitments.
