Mission & Goals
Code for Romania designs, builds and maintains integrated digital ecosystems of social change through technology. Currently, we are spearheading an international initiative, Commit Global, which maintains and provides equal access to integrated digital infrastructure for civil society organisations and affected populations around the world. This global capacity supports 3 critical verticals: (1) humanitarian assistance, (2) civil society support, (3) climate action. More details can be found here https://www.commitglobal.org/en.
EU Legislative Interests
We wish to meet with a member of the Commissioner's Group on A Europe Fit for the Digital Age. Among the priorities of this entity, we target the areas of digital skills (we have developed an integrated ecosystem meant to build capacity for CSOs), fighting cyberwarfare and new capabilities in the field of AI along with ensuring democracy and transparency of electoral processes and humanitarian aid and affairs. We have developed the integrated digital infrastructure that currently addresses the humanitarian crisis triggered by the war in Ukraine and that is being redeployed in other parts of the world affected by man made or natural disasters, as: Lebanon, Jordan, Armenia and Mexico). We also wish to meet with MEPs who hold relevant portfolios for our work.
