Main objectives: - Developing studies, analyzes and making recommendations for the decision-making process in agriculture. - Representation and promotion of Club members' interests in the consultation and decision-making process regarding agricultural policies, carried out by European and national institutions - Advising European and national legislative structures in order to adopt policies with a positive impact on the performance of Romanian agriculture - Permanent information to Club members regarding the implementation of the common agricultural policy (CAP) - Proposing fiscal, legislative, technological solutions for risk management and reducing the potential negative impact

EU Legislative Interests

We believe that it is important and necessary to have a permanent, transparent and constructive dialogue between Romanian farmers and European and national legislative structures. We also believe in the direct involvement of farmers in the legislative decision-making process in the agricultural field because they are the beneficiaries of the policies and decisions that are adopted at the European Union and national level. CAP Policy stays at the top of our priorities. A delegation of the Romanian Farmers' Club, made up of members of the Board of Directors and young farmers - graduates of the Young Leaders for Agriculture Program - paid a visit to Brussels, between March 31-April 2 2025, for European promotion actions of the achievements obtained through the programs Club dedicated to the exchange of generations in agriculture, as well as for the presentation of the difficult economic situation of Romanian farmers. The representatives of the Club had meetings with the management of DG AGRI, the management of the Romanian Representation to the EU, as well as the management of ELO (European Landowners' Organization), a European organization to which the Farmers' Club is affiliated. The following points of analysis regarding issues of national interest were presented: Allocating CAP funds exclusively to European farmers; Increasing the agricultural crisis reserve from budget margins, as the current reserve is wholly insufficient; Continuing external convergence; Increasing the budget for the Common Agricultural Policy; Increasing the share of Pillar 1 payments made in advance; Substantial increase in the Crisis Reserve; Mechanisms for managing environmental risks and financial losses; Adoption of a support instrument for farmers in Member States bordering Ukraine; Encouraging the rapid adoption of research and innovation outcomes in agriculture to boost the competitiveness of European farmers – new genomic techniques; Promoting solutions that allow producers in the 5 EU Member States (most affected by the war in Ukraine) to monetize their grain; Reducing bureaucracy and simplifying the Common Agricultural Policy (CAP); Identifying new sources of funding, outside the CAP, for the environmental requirements that farmers must meet; Increasing farmers’ bargaining power within the agri-food value chain; Social conditionality.

Organisation Members

Our organization is founded by farmers, and we have a Council of Directors that makes decisions about future strategies and budgets annually, made out of farmers as well. Our sponsors are the farmers who redirect 2% of the income tax and private partners who support the association's activities. The Romanian Farmers Club is a non-profit and non-governmental association of Romanian farmers. The members of the association are successful farmers who have business models based on innovation, technology, and good agriculture practices, to increase competitiveness and added value created in this field. The Club's activity is organized on projects, based on the needs of farmers, approved by the Board of Directors and put into practice by the executive unit. The projects target the fields of legislation, taxation, technology and human resources and aim to identify solutions that respond in a real, concrete way to the problems faced by farmers. Alongside the sponsorships from farmers and partners, The Romanian Farmers Club Association is a shareholder in the Romanian Farmers Club Insurance Broker since May 2020. It is the first time in Romania that a farmers association (an NGO) enters as a shareholder in an insurance broker. Together, the Club and the Broker have increased representation and negotiation power in relation to the authorities and insurance companies. The Romanian Farmers Club Insurance Broker has a double mission: it supports farmers and advises them in risk management in their business and, through its current activity, contributes to the financial support of the programs and projects of the Romanian Farmers Club, which aims to increase the competitiveness of agricultural businesses in Romania.
