EU Legislative Interests
Our association engages in EU policy engagement activities primarily through the expertise and in-kind contributions of its member organisations at the moment. We consolidate practical feedback from our members (SMEs, innovation actors and digital ecosystem stakeholders) and, where relevant, our representatives participate in public consultations, stakeholder events and expert discussions, with the aim of supporting evidence-based policy design and implementation in the fields of digitalisation and innovation. In particular, our engagement relates to the following EU legislative and policy frameworks/initiatives: Horizon Europe - EU Framework Programme for Research and Innovation; Digital Europe Programme - supporting strategic digital transformation initiatives; AI Act - EU regulation on artificial intelligence (compliance, ethics and deployment aspects); AI Factories / AI Sandboxes - EU-level initiatives promoting AI experimentation, innovation and testing environments; European Digital Innovation Hubs (EDIHs) - policies and initiatives supporting SMEs and public sector organisations in the uptake of digital technologies and access to knowledge, testing facilities and finance. Through these activities, we contribute structured, practice-based input from our member community to support the effective development and uptake of EU instruments, aligned with the needs of innovation ecosystems and digital transformation priorities.

Additional Information
The declared annual cost estimate (<10,000 EUR) refers to the most recent closed financial year and reflects the limited expenses managed at association level (cash budget). RO-DIH has no employees and therefore no personnel costs at association level. RO-DIH also has no rented offices/paid premises; any meeting space used is provided in-kind by member organisations, therefore no office costs are recorded at association level. A substantial part of the activities covered by the Register is delivered through in-kind contributions (voluntary staff time and expertise) and/or direct cost coverage by member organisations/partners (e.g., travel for representation, stakeholder event participation, General Assembly logistics). As such, these costs have often been borne directly by members to date and have not been fully reflected in the association’s own expenditure.
