Mission & Goals
ASPERTIC is a Non-profit association that works towards a better justice system, a better use of technology and safeguarding privacy at national and European level. Members of the association are experts with a broad experience with ICTs (Information and communications technology), including copper pair technologies, robotics, biotechnology, and cybersecurity. As part of the association, members provide expert evidence before Courts and legislative bodies and at conferences, as well as training on their particular area of expertise.
EU Legislative Interests
In the exercise of our association’s goal to work towards a better justice system, we pay particular attention to the following: - DIRECTIVE (EU) 2019/1158 OF THE EUROPEAN PARLIAMENT AND OF THE COUNCIL of 20 June 2019 on work-life balance for parents and carers and repealing Council Directive 2010/18/EU - DIRECTIVE 2006/54/EC OF THE EUROPEAN PARLIAMENT AND OF THE COUNCIL of 5 July 2006 on the implementation of the principle of equal opportunities and equal treatment of men and women in matters of employment and occupation (recast) - Council Directive 1999/70/EC of 28 June 1999 concerning the framework agreement on fixed-term work concluded by ETUC, UNICE and CEE - European Charter of Fundamental Rights - Proposal for a DIRECTIVE OF THE EUROPEAN PARLIAMENT AND OF THE COUNCIL on the protection of persons reporting on breaches of Union law In the exercise of our association’s goal to work towards a better use of technology and safeguarding privacy, we pay particular attention to the following: - Regulation (EU) 2016/679 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 27 April 2016 on the protection of natural persons with regard to the processing of personal data and on the free movement of such data, and repealing Directive 95/46/EC (General Data Protection Regulation) - The EU Cybersecurity Act The association is awaiting selection to be a member of the STAKEHOLDER CYBERSECURITY CERTIFICATION GROUP of the European Commission.
Communication Activities
Members of the association act as expert speakers at congresses and panel discussions on several topics related to the goals of the association, including some bodies of the European Union. The association also provides expert technical and legal advice to Members of the European Parliament. Aspertic provided advice in relation to the directive on the protection of whistleblowers.

Additional Information
ASPERTIC's work is carried out for the most part by volunteers. The office is provided by a member of the association and the only fixed expenses are travels and meals.
