Mission & Goals
Ashurst LLP is a global law firm which provides legal services, policy advice and representation on a range of legal issues across several jurisdictions. With 1.900 lawyers in thirty-one offices across eighteen countries, we offer the reach and insight of a global network, combined with the knowledge and understanding of local markets. We regularly represent our clients' interests in meetings with public authorities about regulations in various sectors around the world, but particularly in the EU and the UK. In Belgium, our team is particularly active in the EU competition law, international & EU trade, and EU regulatory areas.
EU Legislative Interests
Ashurst LLP monitors a range of legislative proposals in particular in the areas of EU competition, trade, energy and sustainability. More precisely, we track developments relating to the Foreign Subsidies Regulation, the Foreign Direct Investment Screening Regulation, the Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism Regulation, the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive, the Corporate Sustainability Due Diligence Directive, the Regulation on Deforestation-Free Products, and the Forced Labour Regulation, among others. All these developments could lead to instructions from our clients.
Communication Activities
We organise webinars and in-person events focusing on EU laws (competition, trade, regulatory). In addition, we regularly publish analysis and alerts on these topics, both in traditional publications and via social media.
