Mission & Goals

Areté Youth Foundation is supporting high- potential Roma youth who are limited by social and economic barriers in Bulgaria. We contribute to the development of an engaged civil society and build role models in the Roma community who support each other to achieve educational, professional and personal success. Our mission: To build sustainable social networks that encourage educational pursuits, instill a culture of giving back, promote mentorship and leadership, and actively engage in advocacy, all of which contribute to a more empowered and socially responsible society. Our vision: Young Roma people we work with have self-confidence, high academic aspirations, increased career, social, and civic skills, uphold democratic values and human rights, appreciate their Roma identity and cultural background, participate actively in community life and social processes, and are able to make important decisions for themselves, the community and the country.
