Mission & Goals
“Association for Promotion of Open Society” (APOS) was established in 2015 in Germany with the aim of expanding and strengthening the culture of tolerance, freedom, and democracy in Iran. The fundamental goal of the institute is to promote human rights and liberal culture to overcome obstacles to the expansion and consolidation of an open society. The association focuses on political, economic, social, and cultural changes in Iran with the goal of promoting an open society, democratic culture, and increasing public awareness. As an organization founded by Iranians in Germany, we are also interested in the integration process of Iranian immigrants in Germany.
EU Legislative Interests
Human rights – EU external relations, democracy promotion, sanctions/policies regarding third countries; Civil society / NGO support – EU funding programs or advocacy for freedom of expression; Migration / integration – EU policies on immigration, diaspora integration, anti-discrimination and anti-corruption and anti-money laundering.

APOS collaborates with NGOs and civil society organizations promoting human rights, democracy, and integration of Iranian diaspora, but is not a formal member of any network. Additional Information
APOS operates largely on a voluntary basis. A significant portion of the persons involved contribute without full financial compensation. The organisation has limited financial resources, and activities are carried out with minimal operational costs. Therefore, the declared annual costs are relatively low compared to the number of persons involved.
