Mission & Goals
Aontas na Mac Léinn in Éirinn (AMLÉ), is the national student's union of Ireland, representing over 300,000 third level students and doctoral candidates, both within the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland, through joint representation with NUS-USI. AMLÉ is a confederal umbrella organisation, comprised of member organisations (student's unions) from third level institutions in Ireland. AMLÉs day-to-day work is managed by its 11-person officer team, with remits in representing student interests across welfare, academic affairs, equality, Irish language, postgraduate affairs and more, and organises campaigns on these issues as well as makes policy contributions to the Irish government, and the European Union, through its membership of the European Student's Union and the European Council of Doctoral Candidates. AMLÉ is governed by its annual Comhdháil (Congress), where delegates from student's unions attend to debate, set policy and elect the new officer team.
