Mission & Goals
Ancienne Belgique is a vibrant music temple in the heart of Brussels. With around 320 concerts and more than 320,000 visitors per year, AB is one of the top European concert venues. In 2014, Ancienne Belgique created Liveurope, the live music platform for new European talent, and AB acts as the coordinator of this EU-funded initiative currently gathering 24 iconic music venues in Europe. The goal of Liveurope is to boost the cross-border circulation of new European music artists through a European quality label and an incentive bonus mechanism. Ancienne Belgique aims at being a home for the dialogue between the music sector and EU decision-makers, and has hosted several discussions on the policy and support for the music sector at EU level such as the AB Music Working Group (2015), the First Music Moves Europe structured dialogue (2019) or the European Music Export Conference (2019).
