Mission & Goals
The Aluminium Stewardship Initiative (ASI) is a global, non-profit organisation promoting sustainability and responsible practices across the aluminium value chain. ASI develops and implements its Performance Standard and Chain of Custody Standard to enhance environmental, social, and governance performance. With over 380 members spanning the aluminium value chain—from mining and smelting to ICT, electronics, automotive, and packaging—ASI fosters collaboration, knowledge exchange, and capacity building. Its objectives include advancing circular economy principles, improving resource efficiency, reducing greenhouse gas emissions, and ensuring ethical sourcing and traceability. ASI aligns its sustainability priorities with global standards, driving the aluminium industry toward circular, transparent, and socially responsible practices while supporting broader sustainable development goals.
