Mission & Goals

The Alliance for Packaging and the Environment (AVU) is an industry association dedicated to promoting environmentally sound and resource-efficient packaging systems. AVU brings together producers, brand owners, retailers, waste management companies and recyclers to support shared responsibility for packaging across its entire life cycle. The organization advocates effective, competitive and transparent packaging collection and recycling systems that contribute to environmental protection while remaining economically efficient. AVU supports clear and transparent legal framework conditions that ensure all obligated parties contribute appropriately and fairly. Through dialogue with its members, policymakers and other relevant stakeholders, AVU contributes to the further development and continuous improvement of packaging sustainability and recycling systems.
