Mission & Goals

To help end plastic waste and pollution, AEPW’s purpose is to lead the creation of a circular economy for plastic through a series of transformative interventions, including some or all, but not limited to, the following: (i) developing, deploying, de-risking and supporting solutions related to design, collection, sorting, processing, recycling, reuse, refill and repurpose; (ii) fostering innovation and collaboration among business, governments, communities and others; (iii) sharing and enabling the sharing of knowledge and expertise; (iv) mobilizing and catalyzing financial resources; (v) fostering and enabling education; and (vi) fostering and enabling the clean-up of existing areas of concentrated plastic waste.

EU Legislative Interests

The Alliance to End Plastic Waste, Inc. (AEPW) remains developing its planned EU initiatives. EU initiatives and policies being followed by AEPW are those impacting the management, recycling, and disposal of plastic waste. AEPW will engage with private sector companies in developing solutions to help prevent the mismanagement of plastic waste; and to enhance understanding of the sources and solutions to plastic waste in the environment. AEPW will encourage the development of policies and allocation of resources to support the recycling, reuse and repurposing of plastic wastes. Specific initiatives or policies being followed include EU Circular Economy Action Plan, European Strategy for Plastics in a Circular Economy.
