Mission & Goals
Over the last 25 years AKTI has grown to one of the largest and most respected environmental not-for-profits in Cyprus, with activities that reach well beyond the island’s boundaries. AKTI maintains an extensive network of collaborators and volunteers, in over 50 countries across Europe and the world and participates in several international initiatives and applied research projects that help further its work towards meeting its mission, which is to implement sustainability and raise environmental awareness in key target groups. AKTI’s remit is to: • study, explore, and undertake research on environmental, scientific, social and other relevant issues; • disseminate information and research on the environment and the coastal area; • enhance the exchange of information and experiences regarding practices on resolving key environmental problems; • advocate for environmental protection and sustainability; • organise and implement environmental education activities and programmes.
