Airbnb was born in 2007 when two hosts welcomed three guests to their San Francisco home, and has since grown to over 5 million hosts who have welcomed over 1.5 billion guest arrivals in almost every country across the globe. We calculated the estimate of annual costs consistent with guidelines II.5. a) heading 14. It reflects staff costs and office expenses devoted to activities covered by the register, our in-house operational expenditure on relevant EU public affairs campaigns and advocacy, the amounts we spend with consultants and other third parties on activities covered by the register, and the portion of our membership fees with trade associations that is attributable to activities covered by the register.
