Mission & Goals

AiMedTech’s remit is to develop cutting-edge, clinically safe and regulation-aligned AI solutions that solve critical healthcare challenges. Our core mission is to improve patient flow, reduce inefficiencies, and enhance clinical decision-making across secondary care through explainable, privacy-preserving artificial intelligence. AiMedTech focuses on: Building AI tools that directly address systemic pressures such as referral backlogs, inappropriate referrals, and triage delays. Ensuring all solutions meet UK MHRA AIaMD and EU AI Act standards from inception. Working with clinicians, NHS Trusts, and academic institutions to co-develop trustworthy and interoperable AI technologies. Enabling hospitals to adopt AI safely through federated learning, explainability, and clinician-led governance. Our flagship product, MedBridge, is the first AI-powered secondary-care triage platform designed to optimise referrals between primary and secondary care, improving access, safety, and effici

EU Legislative Interests

Ai MedTech engages with EU policy areas that directly influence the safe, effective, and ethical deployment of artificial intelligence in healthcare. The primary legislative proposals and policies we target include: 1. EU AI Act (Artificial Intelligence Act) – Our flagship product, MedBridge, is designed to comply with the EU AI Act as a high-risk AI medical system. We aim to contribute to discussions around implementation guidelines, conformity assessment pathways, transparency requirements, human oversight, data governance, and post-market monitoring for AI used in clinical triage and referral optimisation. 2. EU Medical Device Regulation (MDR) & AIaMD Harmonisation – We engage with policy developments concerning AI-enabled medical devices, including clarification of classification rules, clinical evaluation requirements, and harmonised standards for software as a medical device (SaMD). Our goal is to support frameworks that ensure safety while enabling innovation. 3. European Health Data Space (EHDS) – As a company working with federated learning and interoperability (FHIR/SNOMED), we are aligned with EHDS objectives such as secure secondary use of health data, cross-border data access, interoperability standards, and trusted research environments. We aim to support policy shaping around responsible data sharing across the EU. 4. Digital Europe & Europe’s Data Strategy – We contribute to dialogues around AI infrastructure, cloud adoption in healthcare, trustworthy data-sharing frameworks, and the development of distributed AI systems that maintain patient privacy at scale. 5. EU Cybersecurity Strategy / NIS2 Directive – Given the sensitive nature of health data, we engage on policies relating to cybersecurity requirements for critical infrastructure, including hospitals and digital health organisations. 6. EU Policy on Health System Resilience & Workforce Efficiency – MedBridge directly targets referral inefficiencies and patient flow challenges. We engage with initiatives under EU4Health, innovation in care pathways, and policies promoting digital transformation of public health systems.

Communication Activities

AiMedTech engages in communication and awareness-building activities supporting EU priorities in digital health, AI safety, and data governance. We organise expert briefings, publish policy-oriented white papers, and participate in cross-border webinars with healthcare innovators, academic institutions, and clinical networks. We disseminate updates on responsible AI development, federated learning, and interoperability using EU standards such as SNOMED CT and FHIR. These activities aim to strengthen trust in high-risk medical AI, support EU policy objectives, and facilitate safe digital transformation within European healthcare systems.
