Mission & Goals

AIM – AI Impact Mission is dedicated to harnessing the transformative potential of AI to drive positive societal change. Our goal is centered on building an inclusive, pan-European community of AI enthusiasts, professionals, students, and thought leaders. We foster innovation through dynamic events and hackathons where participants develop cutting-edge solutions—utilising technologies such as large language models (LLMs) and retrieval-augmented generation (RAG)—to address pressing global challenges like sustainability. Additionally, we promote knowledge sharing via keynote talks, discussions, and collaborative engagement, ensuring that responsible and impactful AI practices remain at the forefront of our mission.

EU Legislative Interests

• European Artificial Intelligence Act • Digital Services Act • Digital Markets Act (often associated with the so-called “28th regime” in discussions)

Communication Activities

Specific Interest Representation Activities AIM actively represents the interests of our AI community by engaging in a variety of targeted activities beyond mere monitoring of EU legislative developments. Our initiatives include: Campaigns and Projects: We design and execute specific campaigns and projects that highlight the impact of emerging EU legislative proposals such as the European Artificial Intelligence Act, Digital Services Act, and Digital Markets Act on the AI landscape. For instance, our recent Hackathon (more details at: https://ai-mission.eu) focused on raising awareness about using AI for sustainability, considering the EU due diligence rules such as the eu supply chain directive. Events and Hackathons: Our community-driven hackathons and panel discussions are structured to directly address the implications of new legislative proposals on AI development. These events bring together industry experts, thought leaders, and representatives from EU institutions, creating a forum where practical challenges and policy impacts are debated. We also intend to share the insights from our community with EU representatives to inform future legislation Publications and Position Papers: We intend to publish thought leadership articles, policy briefs, and formal position papers that analyze the challenges and opportunities arising from the evolving EU AI policy landscape. These publications are designed to influence policy discussions by presenting clear recommendations and insights. Meetings and Direct Engagement: Beyond public events, AIM is intending to arrange meetings and roundtable discussions with EU policymakers. These sessions are aimed at conveying our community’s perspectives and feedback on the proposed legislative changes, ensuring our voice contributes to shaping policy outcomes. Digital Outreach and Informal Dialogue: Our ongoing digital engagement will facilitate continuous dialogue between our community and EU stakeholders. This informal channel allows us to rapidly disseminate insights, gather feedback, and adjust our advocacy approach as new policy proposals emerge. While community building and innovation remain at our core, our structured campaigns, events, publications, and direct engagements ensure that we contribute constructively to EU policy debates on AI.
