Mission & Goals
The Aga Khan Foundation (AKF) is one of the AKDN agencies and operates in Portugal since 1983. AKF Portugal’s goal is to improve quality of life and support the development of a pluralistic society with a cosmopolitan outlook that benefits everybody. This encompasses equal access to opportunities for all while valuing and bridging cultural diversity, strengthening systems and institutions, and leveraging culturally sensitive environments. By piloting small scale solutions and scaling them up nationally, AKF Prt is contributing to the 2030 SDGs Agenda, through interventions that unfold in five key thematic areas: ECD, Education, Work & Enterprise, Civil Society (including senior citizens and caregivers) and Community Climate Resilience.
