Mission & Goals

AFRIW: - designs and supports educational, social, and leadership programmes to strengthen the role of women* and girls* in political, social, and cultural life, especially from marginalised and minority backgrounds. - promotes a feminist approach to foreign policy, recognising gender equity and equal participation as essential foundations for peace and security; advances women’s leadership in peace and conflict studies, supporting inclusive mediation and negotiation efforts. - promotes fundamental rights for all, especially those from minority and marginalized groups. We raise awareness about human rights violations, support survivors, and advocate for fair treatment and equal opportunity worldwide. - is committed to combating labour exploitation and human trafficking. We engage in initiatives that uphold the rights and dignity of vulnerable workers and promote legal protections and support systems.

EU Legislative Interests

Regarding specific EU strategies or legislative proposals, we have not yet conducted any lobbying activities in this area. Our activities in general focus on lobbying on migration, refugee and human rights issues. We focus on issues related to human trafficking and the exploitation of workers from third-world countries, especially in Germany. Regarding specific EU policies or legislative proposals in our field of work, we would like to engage primarily in following strategies/proposals: - Application of the ‘safe third country’ concept - Establishment of a list of safe countries of origin at Union level - Union support for asylum, migration and integration 2028–2034 - Enhancing police cooperation in relation to the prevention, detection and investigation of migrant smuggling and trafficking in human beings; enhancing Europol’s support to preventing and combating such crimes
