Mission & Goals

The African International Institute for Peace (AFIIP) is an independent non-profit organization dedicated to promoting peace, conflict resolution, and intercultural dialogue, particularly in African and diasporic contexts. AFIIP works to support sustainable development, human rights, democratic governance, and nonviolent solutions through education, advocacy, and international cooperation. The institute also fosters partnerships between African stakeholders and EU institutions to address global challenges such as migration, security, and climate resilience. AFIIP operates through conferences, policy dialogues, youth engagement, and community-based programs.

EU Legislative Interests

AFIIP engages actively with and seeks to influence key EU initiatives aligned with its peacebuilding, governance, and EU–Africa cooperation objectives: Joint Africa–EU Strategy (JAES) and its successive Action Plans: supports implementation in peace and security, mediation, anti-discrimination, and governance, aligning with AFIIP’s focus on African–European policy dialogue and stakeholder inclusion. African Peace Facility (APF) and Pan-African Programme (PANAF): core EU funding mechanisms supporting peace, stability, and good governance across Africa through grants and joint programmes. Global Gateway and EU development cooperation architecture: engaging in sustainable development partnerships addressing migration, climate resilience, youth empowerment, and democratic governance. Pact on Migration and Asylum: EU legislation shaping migration and asylum frameworks, requiring coordination on legal migration pathways, return mechanisms, and international partnerships that affect African mobility dynamics.

Communication Activities

AFIIP has actively been a part of different activities and conference organized in the European Parliament for the past couple of years. Most notably Listen to Africa. However, these interactions had informal character and had no bearing on the European Institutions.
