Mission & Goals
The Africa-Europe Foundation (AEF) is an independent platform for multistakeholder dialogue, frank debate and strategic analysis, working as a ‘network of networks’ in bringing together citizens and leaders united by a passionate belief in a deeper partnership between Africa and Europe. Since its inception in December 2020, AEF has catalysed cooperation across critical sectors from energy, agri-food and blue economy to health, digital and youth economic inclusion. AEF was co-founded by a leading European thinktank, Friends of Europe, and a leading African Foundation, the Mo Ibrahim Foundation, in partnership with the African Climate Foundation (the first African-led strategic grant-maker) and the ONE Campaign (the global movement campaigning to end extreme poverty and preventable disease).
