Mission & Goals
Our Federation was established in 1990 as successor of SZÖVOSZ (the Federation of Hungarian Cooperatives). Its main goal – as employer organization – is to represent the interests of the more than 1000 enterprises belonging to the Coop-group. We pay specific attention to the conomic conditions of commercial activities in small towns and rural areas. ÁFEOSZ-COOP Federation is a Hungarian social partner. As such, it is responsible to contribute to the enhancement of competitiveness that can be reached through legislation in favour of companies and through the modernization of vocational training. In order to reach these aims, we are founding members of the Pemanent Consultation Forum between the Private Sector and Government – where we represent the Federation of the Small- and Medium-sized Companies –, are members of the National Economis and Social Council and the Commercial Sectoral Social Dialogue Committee.
EU Legislative Interests
Through our European umbrella organization, Eurocoop, we have been focusing on issues that might affect commerce. More specifically, the organization focuses on EU policies affecting retail trade, food supply chain, consumer protection, and SME competitiveness. We reviewed and shared the SME relief package with our members. We are members of various advisory committees of the European Commissio and the Employer side of EU-OSHA.
