Mission & Goals

To encourage the development of quality activities of all types in the field of air and space, to enhance and enrich the scientific, technical, cultural and human legacy, to disseminate knowledge and to provide a focus for activities. To achieve its aims of promoting high level thinking on air and space issues, the AAE comprises 231 members and 125 correspondents. Members hold or have held significant responsibilities in their fields from a wide variety of backgrounds: engineers, industrialists, researchers, managers, pilots, astronauts, doctors, lawyers, economists, journalists, writers and artists all work together.

EU Legislative Interests

All EU proposals that may affect the aerospace sector in Europe: research, environment, transport, trade, mergers, defence, security, etc. Consultation on white paper on levelling the playing field as regards foreign subsidies.

Communication Activities

Quartrly Newsletter are published. Dossier 56. Seven recommendations to secure the futuer of European launchers.(2025). Dossier 55: Decarbonising AirTarnsport by 2050: a question of enetrgy (2024). AI, connectivity and cybersecurity in avionics. Lecture in Bordeaux, june 2025. Managing the impact of weather on air and space launch operations. Conference Brussels november 2025.
