Mission & Goals

The Swedish Export Credit Corporation (SEK) is a commercially driven, state-owned company that provides financing to Swedish exporters, their subcontractors, subsidiaries, and international buyers of Swedish products and services. SEK’s financing supports company growth, creating new jobs and driving economic growth in Sweden. Additionally, SEK promotes the transition to a more sustainable society, both within Sweden and globally.

EU Legislative Interests

Global Gateway is a new European strategy to boost smart, clean and secure links in digital, energy and transport sectors and to strengthen health, education and research systems across the world. The European Commission and the EU High Representative launched it in 2021. Global Gateway is being rolled out in a Team Europe approach with the European Commission, European External Action Service (EEAS), EU Member States, as well as with financial institutions, the private sector and other non-governmental organisations. The approach will facilitate full-scale mobilisation of political stamina, technical expertise and financial resources. AB Svensk Exportkredit/The Swedish Export Credit Corporation is acting together with other European Credit Agencies (ECA:s) and have for this year one person located in Brussels as a unite Global Gateway Export Credit Liaison Officer.

Communication Activities

April 13-14th, 2026: "EU ECA CEO Meet & Greet" session on Tuesday, 14 April from 08:45 to 10:45. The event will bring together a delegation of EU Export Credit Agency (ECA) CEOs from Germany, Sweden, the Czech Republic, and France, who will be in Brussels to present the "Joint Statement on Integrated EU Export Finance Support – an EU ECA Perspective", endorsed by 22 EU Export Credit Agencies (ECA). During their visit, the ECA CEOs will also meet with senior representatives of the European Commission, including Commissioner for Trade, Mr. Maroš Šefčovič, Director-General GROW, Ms. Kerstin Jorna, and Director-General INTPA, Mr. Koen Doens. In this context, the ECAs are keen to engage in a first informal dialogue with interested Member State representatives. The discussion will explore how the EU and Member State ECAs can collectively strengthen financial support for the EU private sector, in alignment with the Global Gateway strategy.
