Mission & Goals

5Rights Foundation develops new policy, creates innovative projects and challenges received narratives to ensure governments, regulators, the tech sector and society understand, recognise and prioritise children’s needs and rights in the digital world. In all of our work, a child is anyone under the age of 18, in line with the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child.

Oct 25: Renew event in Brussels, Belgium. 5Rigths reacted to the policy paper proposed by Renew and on protection of minors on social media Oct 25 Paris Peace Forum in France. 5Rights spoke on “Forging the Future: A Dialogue on Beneficial AI for Children, Starting with Principles” Nov 25 “The Key Battles in the EU to Protect the Rights of Children and Young People Online” conference in Copenhagen, Denmark. 5Rights gave a presentation “Children’s rights in the age of artificial intelligence– Impacts, existing regulation & additional design measures” and spoke at a panel on the Digital Age of Majority. Nov 25 Euroconsumer Forum in Brussels, Belgium. 5Rights spoke about “Europe race to a minor proof digital future”. Dec 25 Safer Internet Forum - Why age matters in Brussel, Belgium. 5Rights took part in “Breakthrough sessions on age verification” Dec 25 EurIPS, the first European side track for prestigious AI research symposium NeurIPS in Copenhagen, Denmark. 5Rights gave a keynote on AI and impacts on Child Rights for minoritised youth. Dec 25 Empowering Youth in the Online and Offline world in Brussels, Belgium. 5Rights spoke about “Youth and Democracy in the Digital Age”. Feb 26 - Stakeholders meeting on Digital Literacy- CULT Committee, European Parliament Feb 26 - Protecting Children Online - Europe as a crossroad - event hosted by EPP, Renew and Fundacja Panoptykon Campaign (2025): Campaign4Good: Safety by Design, 5Rights is working with European Association of Communications Agencies (EACA) and ACT Responsible to showcase how purpose-driven creativity can help reimagine a digital world that works for children.
