Mission & Goals
Rani (which stands for Resilience Action Network International) was first established as Pandemic Action Network (PAN) in response to the COVID-19 crisis. We coordinate advocacy to build societal resilience to shifts, change, and crisis. Our network of partners – from civil society to governments and the private sector – works together on policy, advocacy, funding mechanisms, and coordinated action across health and pandemics, biosecurity and defence, finance, and climate.
EU Legislative Interests
- Multiannual financial framework - Biosecurity policies and relevant vehicles (e.g. Biotechnology) - EU preparedness strategy - Resilience - Defence and global health security - All EU efforts in the domain of the COVID-19 response and pandemic preparedness and prevention - Multilateral relationships - Relevant European Councils, Council of Ministers meetings and European Parliament meetings and international meetings
Communication Activities
Rani launched as Pandemic Action Network on April 22, 2020. Since then, we have been working with partners and stakeholders in our Network to raise awareness on the need for pandemic prevention, preparedness and response policies and related areas to build the resilience of people, communities, and countries to existing and future threats.
